Simulate the environment, compress the learning curve, get someone productive faster. In practice, no amount of VR simulation teaches a person how to install conduit in a wall cavity on a 95-degree day with three other trades working around them. The soft skills of construction — reading a site, anticipating danger, knowing when something is wrong — take years. Software cannot manufacture that intuition on a compressed timeline. But it can get someone closer, faster, and right now that is not nothing.

And while platforms like AI-powered creator tools get celebrated as the face of the tech boom, the physical layer underneath all of it — the buildings, the conduit, the concrete — depends entirely on workers who are getting harder and harder to find.
