Bob Lee, a tech executive who founded the famous mobile payment app “Cash App” was found dead on Tuesday (04/05/2023) after he was stabbed near downtown San Francisco, according to his family.

The San Francisco Police Department advised officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 2:35 a.m. Tuesday. The officers found the 43-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, reports said.

Authorities did not name the man, but Lee’s father and brother identified him as the victim.

Bob Lee has been working with a cryptocurrency startup called “MobileCoin” He was the chief product officer. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer for Square (Now called Block), a financial technology company that was Co-Founded by former Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey.

Statement from MobileCoin CEO

In a statement, Wednesday, the founder and chief executive of MobileCoin said Bob Lee “passed away yesterday” and praised his business expertise. He did not specify Bob Lee’s cause of death.

The CEO of MobileCoin went on to say “Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was the genuine article.”

“He was made for the world that is being born right now, he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real.”

Have there been any arrests?

To our knowledge, no arrests have been made as of yet, police have also declined to answer any additional questions or provide any additional details. This is considered a homicide and is still under investigation which is one of the main reasons why no additional information is being given to the public, the medical examiner also declined to provide any info or answer any questions.
